How to apply – pick the right portal

This is where most people go wrong. Which portal you use depends on your category:

  • Graduate and Technician (diploma) apprentices – register on the NATS portal and apply using establishment ID WMHMCC000053.
  • Trade (ITI) and Data Entry Operator apprentices – register on the NAPS portal (apprenticeshipindia.gov.in) and apply using establishment ID E01172700332.

After applying on the portal, fill the IOCL application form linked in the notification and keep both acknowledgements.

Selection

A merit list is prepared on the marks of the qualifying exam (graduation, diploma, ITI or 12th, as applicable). Shortlisted candidates go for document verification and a medical check. Stipend is paid as per the Apprentices Act.

Anyone who has already done an apprenticeship or has more than a year of work experience is usually not eligible, so check this condition in the notice before applying.

Apprenticeship is a one-year training, not a permanent job. Read the official IOCL notice for state-wise seats.
