Good news for ITI holders who have also completed their apprenticeship: BHEL has issued a short notice (Advt. No. 01/2026) for 660 Artisan Grade IV posts across nine of its units. A permanent job in a Maharatna PSU at the artisan level is rare, so keep this one on your radar.
The short notice came out on 13 October 2026. The online form dates will be announced in the detailed advertisement, and the computer-based test is tentatively expected in December 2026.

The posts are spread across BHEL units such as BAP Ranipet, HPVP Visakhapatnam, EDN Bengaluru, SBD, HEEP Haridwar, HPEP Hyderabad, HEP Bhopal, TP Jhansi and HPBP Tiruchirappalli. You can apply to only one unit.
Eligibility
- Class 10 pass
- NTC/ITI in the relevant trade
- National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in the same trade
- At least 60% marks in both ITI and NAC (55% for SC/ST)
Upper age limit as on 1 October 2026 is 27 years for General/EWS, 30 for OBC (NCL) and 32 for SC/ST.
The NAC is the part many candidates miss. If you only have ITI without completing the apprenticeship and NAC exam, you are not eligible this time.
Selection
Selection will be through a computer-based test followed by document verification. The detailed exam pattern will come with the full advertisement.
