How many vacancies are there in RRB NTPC Graduate 2026?

There are 3548 provisional vacancies, including 2750 for Goods Train Manager.

Can final year students apply?

No. You must hold the degree on or before 6 November 2026. Candidates waiting for results are not eligible.

Is there a typing test for clerk posts this time?

No typing skill test is held under CEN 06/2026, though typing may be checked after joining.

Can I apply to more than one RRB?

No. You can apply to only one RRB. Multiple applications can lead to rejection and debarment.

If you are a graduate and have been waiting for a railway form, this is the one. The Railway Recruitment Boards have released CEN No. 06/2026 for NTPC Graduate level posts, and this time there are 3548 vacancies on offer. The bulk of them, 2750 seats, are for Goods Train Manager, which makes this one of the bigger graduate-level railway intakes in recent years.

The online form opened on 8 October 2026 and the last date is 6 November 2026 (11:59 PM). Below I have put together everything you need before you sit down to fill the form: posts, pay, age limit, fee, exam pattern and the small things people usually get wrong.

Which posts are included?

There are four posts under this notice. All of them need only a graduation degree, so you can pick any of them as a preference.

  • Goods Train Manager – 2750 posts, Level 5 (₹29,200 starting basic)
  • Senior Clerk cum Typist – 371 posts, Level 5 (₹29,200)
  • Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist – 300 posts, Level 5 (₹29,200)
  • Chief Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor – 127 posts, Level 6 (₹35,400)

RRB-wise and category-wise numbers are given in Annexure B of the official CEN. Check the RRB you plan to choose, because you can apply to only one RRB.

Who can apply?

You need a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university, and it must be complete on or before 6 November 2026. If your final-year result is still awaited, you are not eligible this time. Age should be between 18 and 33 years as on 1 January 2027, with the usual relaxation for reserved categories (details in the age box on this page).

One good thing for typist posts: there is no typing skill test under this CEN, though typing ability may be checked after joining.

How selection works

The process has four stages: CBT 1, CBT 2, document verification and medical exam. CBT 1 has 100 questions in 90 minutes (General Awareness 40, Maths 30, Reasoning 30). CBT 2 has 120 questions (50, 35, 35) in the same time. Every wrong answer costs one-third of a mark, so guessing blindly is not a smart idea.

Medical standards are different for each post. Goods Train Manager needs A2, which is strict on eyesight, so if you wear thick glasses, think carefully before putting it as your first preference.

How to fill the form

  1. Go to rrbapply.gov.in and open CEN 06/2026.
  2. Create an account. If you registered for any RRB CEN in 2024–2026, log in with the same account.
  3. Finish Aadhaar / DigiLocker verification where asked.
  4. Choose one RRB and fill in your personal, education and category details.
  5. Set your post and zone preferences in order.
  6. Your photo is captured live on the portal, so sit in good light with a plain background.
  7. Upload your signature (JPG, 30–49 KB, black ink on white paper, written normally, not in capital letters).
  8. Pay the fee and download the final copy.

A few practical tips

Do not submit more than one application. RRB rejects all forms of a candidate who applies twice, and can debar them too. Fill the form at least a week before the deadline; the site always slows down in the last two days. And if you are in the ₹250 category, remember the full amount comes back once you appear in CBT 1, so do not skip the exam after applying.

The exam date has not been announced yet. We will update this page as soon as RRB releases the schedule and city slip.

Please read the official CEN 06/2026 once before paying the fee. Vacancy numbers are provisional and may change.
