Frequently Asked Questions
When is SSC CHSL Tier 1 exam 2026?
Tier 1 will be held from 30 November to 31 December 2026.
When will the SSC CHSL city slip be released?
Usually 8–10 days before your exam date.
When will the SSC CHSL admit card come?
Usually 2–3 days before your exam date, on ssc.gov.in after login.
Is there sectional timing in SSC CHSL 2026?
Yes, each of the four sections has a 15-minute timer.
How many vacancies are in SSC CHSL 2026?
About 2536 tentative vacancies.
If you filled the SSC CHSL 2026 form in September, the countdown has started. SSC has scheduled the Tier 1 computer-based exam from 30 November to 31 December 2026. Around 2536 tentative vacancies are on offer this time for LDC/JSA and DEO posts.
That gives you roughly six weeks. Below is what to expect next and how the paper works this year.
City slip and admit card – when?
SSC usually releases the exam city slip about 8–10 days before your exam date and the admit card 2–3 days before it. So for candidates whose paper is on 30 November, the city slip can be expected around 20–22 November and the admit card around 27–28 November. Later shifts will get theirs later.
Both will be available after logging in on ssc.gov.in or the mySSC app. SSC no longer uploads admit cards on regional websites, so ignore any “regional link” you see on social media.
Tier 1 exam pattern
- 100 questions, 200 marks
- Four sections of 25 questions each: English, General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude and General Awareness
- Each section has its own 15-minute timer – 60 minutes in total
- 0.50 marks deducted for every wrong answer
The sectional timer changes strategy. You can no longer save time on GK to spend it on maths. Practise full mocks with section timers on, so you get used to moving on when the clock runs out.
What comes after Tier 1
Tier 1 is for shortlisting. Qualified candidates go to Tier 2, which has two sessions: a CBT on maths, reasoning, English, GA and computer knowledge (1 mark negative per wrong answer), and a qualifying skill/typing test. The Tier 2 date has not been announced yet.
Six-week plan in short
- Weeks 1–2: Finish weak topics; one sectional test every day
- Weeks 3–4: One full mock daily with sectional timing, analyse every mistake
- Weeks 5–6: Revise current affairs of the last 6 months, previous year papers, and light mocks only
Dates are as per the SSC schedule. Check ssc.gov.in for the official notice. We will update this page when the city slip and admit card are out.
